Teaching Philosophy

My teaching centers on creating psychologically safe, engaging, and evidence-based learning environments that help students experiment, think critically, and learn from one another. In both virtual and in-person classrooms, I foster climates where students feel safe taking risks—whether analyzing data, debating ideas, or reflecting on their teamwork. This approach helps students develop quantitative reasoning, collaboration, and critical thinking skills that are foundational to leadership and organizational success.

I also view teaching as an iterative process of continuous learning. Each semester, I integrate new materials, feedback, and emerging technologies to deepen student engagement. For example, my work with Sheila Webber on the Innovative Teaming course, which was selected for the OpenAI Academy Global Faculty AI Project (2025), invites students to use AI to analyze and improve upon their own team dynamics.

My commitment to experiential and inclusive teaching has been recognized with multiple teaching awards.
